Thank you Tags - Lovely Clay Flowers

New Category of item - My Brand New Fat Quarters

Today is the 8th day of the Lunar New Year. We are already halfway through the festive. So fast! This is the first year that I do not have yusheng in the office. But I had mine with relatives on the eve and second day. I think my record was 7, if my memory do not failed me. My uncle even took the trouble to purchase chopsticks, bearing our surnames in chinese characters. Cool, isn't it?

In the new year, I did some spring cleaning and detashing stuff to sell. One of them was my brand new fat quarters that I have purchased from overseas. *Click the photo to view them*

Brand New Fat Quarters for Sale

I have also created a new icon on the left which can bring you to my picasa web album to have a look at my fat quarters for sale.

Email me if you have any questions. I will be detashing more and post there for sale.

Have a great evening.

Scrapbook Market Giveaway Challenge

Last week, I did a giveaway challenge at the Scrapbook Market page. I have requested people to submit their works, be it a layout, card or digital. It must contain an animal. Yes, an owl. Why? Because my prizes were related to OWLS.

My giveaway was a Fat Quarter of an owl piece and 1 yard of own ribbon.
Prizes
Aren't they cute?

I selected a winner based on the most number of "LIKES" before Chinese New Year.

The winner went to Jie Ying. Here was her card that was submitted for the challenge.

Scrapbook Market Gathering

Recently, I discovered a new group called Scrapbook Market in Singapore. It consists of old and new scrappers sharing knowledge of scrapbooking and best of all - selling their extra stash, or rather, unused stash.

Last saturday was an important day for most of us. :) How come? Well, almost 30 of us were there, meeting up as a buyer and/or seller outside Toast Box at Plaza Singapura in the morning.

It was extremely fun as that was our first gathering. I think it was real nice to have a face-to-face session. Some of us paid for our loot, while others sold their stash.

I was paying for my purchase at the background.
I brought my camera and took a group photograph at some point in time. A pity that some of us were late or run an errand and they were not in this photograph.

Want to see what I bought? Here you go.

90% are stamps!! Wah!

I also received some RAKs too. RAKs = Random Act of Kindness = Freebies!

Happy Dragon Year to all!

MAAD - Friday the 13th

Last friday was the first friday the 13th in January 2012. I participated in MAAD at red dot museum again. My first one was in december 2011.

At the booth
The difference for this month was that I was given 2 booths instead of 1. I have more space to display my handmades for sale, thanks to my cousin who took half day to help me with the setup and teardown at the end.

Front look
Added my earrings for sale in the evening
The crowd was much lesser than the december period. Maybe it was due to the upcoming CNY or nobody seems to be bothered to buy something for themselves or friends straight after X'mas. However, I met up with nice crafters, Joyce and Jenny who were on my both sides. Gee, our names start with "J". So coincident.

Well, I will be packing up for the upcoming CNY and hopefully, will have time to post the earrings online for sale as well in the blog and facebook.

Wish all an early Dragon year!

Maya Road Ribbons
During the last Cyber Monday sales last november, I ordered a mystery package from Maya Road. There are some cardstocks, spray inks, pins, canvas album, etc, all packaged by the Maya Road staff in USA.

What I love best is the ribbons! There are many different designs that added to my existing collection. You see the mess in the photograph, didn't you? I need to figure out what can be done to sort these out. In a box? organiser? spools?

I have not unpack the rest of the package yet. er.. time to do so by Chinese New Year, I hope.

Chinese New Year Warehouse Shopping

Yesterday was a long day. My parents and family went out early in the morning to gather at our nearest Resident Committee Centre. What were we doing there? Well, we took part in an activity organised by them. Yes! For shopping of Chinese New Year goodies at warehouses.

Our first stop was at Hosen. They are famous for their canned products, eg longans, lychees, etc. I did not buy much as we hardly eat canned food.

Right outside their gate. HUGE!
As usual, she loves to sit on the trolley
Our next stop was at Tai Sun. They are famous for their nuts and tibits! Great to store up for Chinese New Year. I bought a few of their goodies - crackers!

Tai Sun
She is looking at the variety at the top
Later on, there was a heavy rain. I could not take a shot at the gate. We went to Afco East to buy seafood and frozen ones. My father bought fishes and prawns.

We had lunch at West Coast Hawker Centre. Too many stalls to choose from. If you prefer aircon, the West Coast Plaza is just opposite. The rain became heavier and heavier but that did not dampened our mood.

We continued the journey to Bee Cheng Hiang. In the journey, the organiser gave us riddles to guess and share jokes with everyone. It was light-hearted and fun.

The logo I took inside the tentage
Edna just woke up from her nap on bus. Looked blur.
People, people, people
How could we not buy Bak Gua (bbq pork slice) and eat? I had a piece for breakfast and teabreak today. I don't think there will be any more left by Chinese New Year. :)

Our last stop was at 15 Woodlands Loop. You will be surprised at the number of food suppliers there, selling their stuff. Personally, I found this shop called Xin Ping Xiang very outstanding.

Outside their shop
Do you know they have Bak Gua that are made of duck meat? Mixed with red wine? Mixed with Balachan? You heard of these before?

At about 3pm, we left the vicinity and home sweet home.

I will participate the shopping trip again with the Resident Committee next time. Have you started your shopping yet?

Her first few works

Yesterday, my daughter brought back two of her works in class to show her parents and family members.

Her colouring piece
First paint
I think she prefers the paint than the crayon. Oh well, I am going to find a folder and some protected sheets to keep these for her. It will be memorable especially when she becomes an adult. I still keep my art pieces too. ;)

My daughter in Playgroup

These two days were very exciting to all of us. Yes, my daugher has started her playgroup yesterday. It is a 2-hours session. We wanted her to start easy and not the full day kind since I am at home.

Getting ready for school
She is very excited herself. In fact, she does not want me to carry her to and fro school. That is an achievement for her to walk 3 blocks of flats. Plus, she carries her backpack (just some clothes and diaper) and Dora waterbottle.

Serious look? I am going to school, you know.
She did some painting today. I have never exposed her to paint. But who knows, she will be a crafter like me one day. :)

Painting
I just hope she will cry lesser tomorrow. My heart pains but I have to ignore. :(
