World IP Bazaar

Ooooh! I was so glad to participate in this World Intellectual Property Bazaar held at Toa Payoh Hub today. Though I started 2 hours after commencement, I was glad to see so many people who appreciated handmades. Yes, handmades, not second hand or factory made.

In addition to the bazaar, there were performances and best of all, free movie screening of Toy Story 3!!

Tomorrow, there will be performances by local singers - JJ Lin, Derrick, Dick Lee, Chen Wei Lian, etc at 6pm. If you are planning to go down to watch their performance, don't forget to support the stalls. (BTW, I will not be there on 25 April).

New designs for the World IP Bazaar

It has been a while since I last sewn on new designs. Yes, I could not make up my mind which fabric to pick from the "mountain". Ha ha!

I use 4 different designs this time. Here they are:

World Intellectual Property Day 2012

I almost forgot about posting this bazaar event that I will be participating on 24 April. :) Guess I was too busy preparing and looking after kids.

This is a 2-days event happening at Toa Payoh HUB between 12pm to 9pm. What The Flea is collaborating with Intellectual Property of Singapore office for this occassion. At the bazaar, only handmade/original/DIY products will be sold.

March ATCs from members

I love fridays! It will be another weekend for me to enjoy and spend quality time with my little ones. I have finished one group of the April ATCs. One more to go before I meet Carol to submit them. Excited to be waiting to receive all from the rest.

Here is an overview of the March ATCs that I have collected from them in March. Nice to see them in yellows. ;)

If you like to be updated in my ATCs, come follow my pinterest group.

Have a good weekend!

Handmade Baby pillow and bolster

Today is a sunny day. I woke up quite early to do a lot of housechore before my nanny job started at 8am. It was quite tiring to look after 2 kids with different needs - one active and one only knew how to cry.

I was so glad that I never took up the childcare teacher job. I felt shack just to bathe and clean 2 kids 5 times everyday. But the reward after that was something to look forward to. Their lovely SMELL! So nice~

I did a set of baby pillow and bolster and their covers within a day. I used the Shinkansen fabric for the covers. Kawaii-ne.

Now, I can make a new bolster and cover for E. ;)

April ATC Sneak

New day, new week, new challenge...

Last month, I signed up two groups of the April ATC. Carol is the hostess this month and her theme is DISTRESSED TECHNIQUE. To be frank, I have no idea how to go about doing this. I sent a message to her for advice and now I am better equipped to start it.

I browsed through my stamps and realised I did not have a lot of "quotes" or "words" kind. Maybe this gave me an excuse to stockup. Hah!

I decided to pick this stamp that I brought at SBM. Nice isn't it?

Better start stamping now. ;)

March 2012 ATC - Reveal

When the little one got sick, the mummy will be next. ;( And no mood to be crafty at all. I bet most of you will be feeling the same way as me.

As the hostess for the March ATC, I have already sorted and posted out. Most of the members would have received a set from me. Have been receiving comments that they love the YELLOW theme, though it was challenging for most of them.

Here is a final reveal of how I did mine.

1. Selected the stuff I need.

2. Used the pinky scissor to cut the yellow fabric. Decided to create a fushion - using fabric and paper.

3. Used the dolly punch from Martha Steward for the banner.

4. Stamped the quote on the scallop cardstock. I added the safety pin stamp as it matched the fabric which is underneath.

5. Pasting all on the white cardstock.

What do you think of my design?

The April ATC theme is Distressed Technique, hosted by Carol. Just hope that I will get well real soon to start.

My Latest machine - Singer Overlock Machine

YIPPEE!! My second hand Singer Overlock machine (model 14T948DS) came last night.

I placed the 3 big rolls of threads in there. Though this machine can sew 4 threads, the technician told me that 3 are more than sufficient. Well, I can save money to buy an extra roll.

The technician tuned the machine and I tested the machine. It was a different feeling compared to a sewing machine. Nevertheless, it was fun!

Now, I can start making clothes for my little one. Maybe I can also make a cover for this serger so that it will not collect dust. (my to-do list is getting longer again ;p)

But now, I have another headache. Where can I place this machine that my little one will not touch the settings? Oooh, my room is so messy that I don't know where to place it. *sigh*

Threads for my Overlock Machine

Today, I am very excited. My second hand Singer Overlock machine will be delivered to my house this evening. *Hurray*

The funny thing was I did not have any threads at home to test the machine. I forgot to buy them yesterday at the shop. Nevertheless, I went to a hardware store and bought 3 rolls.

Can't wait to play with my new toy this evening. Now, where can I place it? *headache*

February ATCs from members

This week is going to be packed with activities again - work, work and work. No time to enjoy myself, even in the upcoming weekend (Easter is on friday) when I have to work part time.

As promised earlier, here is the february ATCs from members. The theme was "HEART".

My list of TO-DO list on the right of the blog is getting longer. Aww.... I would love to cut it short. :)

January ATCs from the members

Last week was a hectic week for me. I had no rest day at all. Luckily I gave myself a break last Sunday and sorted out the March ATCs (I was the Hostess, remember?)

The March ATCs are ready to be posted and collected by the members. I can't wait to read about their comments in the next couple of days.

Let me share with you how the ATCs looked like from the January batch. The theme was FRIENDSHIP.

What do you think of our designs? It was our first and now, we are moving on to the April theme - DISTRESS, hosted by Carol. I am going to design 2 different types, total 18 pieces.

I shall share the February designs in the next post. :)
