Mattress cover for kid - For my daughter

This is one project that I yearned to do ever since I started buying fabrics online. We bought this nap-time mattress long ago but have been using the single-sized bedsheet over it. There are excess cloth sticking out on the sides and kinda dangerous as it might make us trip and fall.

After deciding which design to use, I started this project in the morning while my baby is not at home. I measured the size and gave allowance for the elastic band to fit through.

This design is from Alexander Henry Collection - Apples + Pears. I fell in love with this as it is very appealing and can teach my daughter what are the items. The rotary cutter and mat is a MUST to have. It is so easy to use to cut the fabric. I don't have to worry that I will cut out of the line. The ruler is used as a guide for the cutter to slice through like a breeze.

The steps are:
Measure your mattress size and give allowance for the elastic band to go through.Fold your fabric in half and then half again. So that it…

Fabrics bought online

(After receiving on Xmas Eve - I became *not guilty*)
You will agree with me that the design of the fabrics are too beautiful and not to be missed. I bought this online again and it came with a bundle set of 8 yards. You can select the bundle separately and not the predefined set. Cool isn't it? The shipment is just USD$13.50.

If you are interested, you can find out more at Fabric Shoppe. Jody is prompt in responding to my emails. The best part is that the delivery takes 1-1.5 weeks!

So the question you have in your mind, I think will be - So, Joey, when will you start sewing? Haa..

My sewing machine - Singer Model 2259

Take a look at my new member of my craftwork family...

I had to give away some table space to place this member. Bought this last week at Courts@ Causeway Point. Haiz, meaning I have to find another table to do my Christmas cards. Tsk tsk. For those who knows me well, my tables are filled with other stuff and again, I have to do spring cleaning. *Thinking aloud* Why didn't I buy a bigger table???

I did my first project and cannot wait to show everyone.

Till then. Buying fabrics time. ^-^

Sneak Preview - Ink Pad

After an event on a saturday morning, I went to Orchard Road and saw these at a store in Wheelock Place, Singapore - Laine's Papeterie. The store sells scrapbooking stuff and lots to choose from.

The brand is called Tsukineko, VersaCraft series. There were only 3 sets available and I bought all impulsively. I find that these will be useful if I want to use a small scale stamp or a stamp of multiple colours. The size is slightly bigger than a finger and easy to hold.

The ink is quite thick and I am still figuring out how to handle. Btw, these can be used on fabric, paper, wood, leather, unglazed ceramic, paper mache and shrink plastic.

Stay tuned! I'm excited to try soon! *-*

My stamping project

I just came back from work, had shower and supper. Still awake and decided to share my first stamping project.

I simply love the font and the little girl's face. They are two different stamp templates.

This is useful to paste on thank-you gifts, just like what I did for my little girl's birthday party.

Hmm.. still not sleepy, but am lazy to work on crafts now. It's approaching midnight.
Well, another day.....@-@

My online buys from USA.

Hehe.. due to the strong currency exchange between Sing dollar and US dollar, I decided to search online for craftworks, all the way from the USA.

Of course, there are a lot of considerations in mind, the shipping and handling charges, insurance, the exchange rate, quality, etc.

Finally, I found this website called Simon Says Stamps! They have a great variety of stamps and scrapbooking items for sale. The ease of transaction is very smooth and response via email is quite prompt as well. Best part is if you spent more than US$250, the shipment is FREE! If not, the shipping cost is charged at a flat rate. That's what I like!

Here are some of the items I bought...

These are the ones that I like..It is the MIMI series from Penny Black Inc. There are some other designs which are out-of-stock! sian...

Of course there are more stuff that I bought. Oh btw, the delivery is only 1 week after payment is received. Isn't that great?

I shall search for other stuff online, better to make us…

Finally! I have created this blog!

So so happy! I managed to create this blog to contain all my craftworks and hopefully, the process. I also hope that some of these will be good enough to interest you. I have big plans, but small output. ;)

Like one mummy told me the term - Tired Mummy Syndrome.

How much time are we left to deal with our handmade crafts - make them, take photo, put in our blog, advertise online, wait for order, fulfil order, post-out... etc...?

Unless you are a SAHM. But then again, SAHM also has not much time to do! I salute those mummies out there who can do it.

I aspire to be one of them!

Ok, time to put my baby to sleep... yawn@@
